ROCKHAMPTON, Queensland – More than 500 workers at the JBS Australia Fitzroy plant plan to strike June 22 after more than a year of negotiations over pay and work conditions, according to local news reports.
More than 200 members of the Australian Meat Industry Employees Union planned to stop work for four hours. JBS decided to close the plant, saying it was not economically feasible to operate around the work stoppage.
