JACKSON, Miss. — Cal-Maine Foods, Inc. has reached an agreement to acquire the commercial egg operations of Pilgrim’s Pride Corp. The assets include two production complexes near Pittsburg, Texas, with capacity for 1.4 million laying hens.

The transaction is expected to close in August.
