CAMBRIDGE CITY, Ind. – Sugar Creek Packing Co. has purchased the former Really Cool Foods Plant in Cambridge City, Ind., during a bankruptcy auction in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Indiana in Indianapolis, according to local news reports. Sugar Creek Packing was the lone bidder for the plant at $13 million.
Sugar Creek Packing has five facilities in Ohio and Kansas, according to the company’s website. The company provides an assortment of raw and fully-cooked products for domestic and international distribution. It was founded in 1966 at Washington Court House, Ohio and was originally a raw bacon manufacturer.
