CHICAGO — William Fisher has been named vice-president of science and policy initiatives for the Institute of Food Technologists. Based in Washington, Mr. Fisher will oversee all scientific, technical and government activities for the organization.
"I.F.T. recognizes Will’s ability to build on our successful science and policy initiatives," said Barbara Byrd Keenan, executive vice-president of the I.F.T. "Likewise, he’ll be raising I.F.T.’s global visibility and scientific and professional profile on food-related issues."
Mr. Fisher will prioritize emerging food issues, recommend appropriate I.F.T. action and oversee development of programs addressing the issues.
He was most recently vice-president at NSF International. Prior to working for NSF, Mr. Fisher was president of Choice Picks, a restaurant holding company.
