SAN DIEGO — Brothers Derek Cowling and Craig Cowling claim to have brought the only 100% organic beef-burger restaurant called O’Brothers to San Diego. Every ingredient on their burgers — including the patty, bun, vegetables, condiments, and even the drinks — is U.S.D.A. Certified organic.

Their menu of organic beef burgers include the classic hamburger, cheeseburger and The Big O' Burger — their signature burger loaded with fresh tomato, onion, avocado, cheese, and bacon. Each patty is made from organic beef sourced from humanely raised, grass-fed cows. The cows are then fed organic grains for 12 weeks to enhance beef marbling and flavor, according to the brothers.

For the grand opening, O'Brothers will select five Twitter (

www.twitter.com/obrothers) followers to receive a free meal each week for the rest of 2009. Winners will be chosen at random from the first 1,000 Twitter followers or at the conclusion of the promotion on April 30, 2009, whichever comes first.

O’Brothers also offers organic non-beef alternatives, including a chicken burger, veggie burger, portabella burger and a cobb salad, which includes chicken. A unique selection of biodynamic wine, an extensive organic beer list and an assortment of organic sodas and teas is also available.

"San Diegans deserve a healthier take on the classic hamburger," said Derek Cowling. "Lunch, dinner, shopping and happy hour, we offer a unique destination in downtown San Diego where guests can gather and enjoy organic food."
