WASHINGTON – Pride Foods, Raiford, Fla., recalled 116,404 lbs. of beef patty and chub products because of misbranding and an undeclared allergen — soy, according to the US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service.

An FSIS inspector discovered the problem during a routine label review before export, the agency reported. The problem was likely the result of an oversight after using a unique label for one customer. The products contained textured vegetable protein which contains soy, but the soy was not included on the product labels, according to FSIS. No illnesses have been reported to FSIS or the company.

The products subject to recall include:

• 10-lb. cases of 3, 4, and 6 oz. “Savory Beef Patties.” These products were exported to the Bahamas and distributed throughout the Caribbean.
• 10-lb. cases of 4 oz. “Beef Patties.” This product was exported to the Bahamas and distributed throughout the Caribbean.
• 24-lb. cases of 1 lb. “Beef Pattie Mix” chubs. This product was distributed to a food bank in Pennsylvania.

The products bear the establishment number “EST. 18506” inside the USDA Mark of Inspection. All products were produced between Dec. 1, 2012, and Aug. 27, 2013.
