Microbiological testing by the Food and Drug Administration uncovered the problem, the agency said. FDA also regulates the products and has issued a similar recall from Garden Fresh Foods. There have been no reports of illness due to consumption of the products, FSIS said.
Garden Fresh Foods is a national supplier and distributor of ready-to-eat products to grocery chains, restaurants, health care facilities and institutions, according to the company’s website. The company operates a 170,000-sq.-ft. facility and employs more than 100 people.
Products regulated by FSIS bear the establishment number “EST. 17256” or “Est. P-17256” inside the USDA mark of inspection and include:
