WASHINGTON – The US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced the agency will implement new rates for inspections and laboratory services charged to meat and poultry facilities.

Starting Jan. 13, new rates will go into effect for providing for overtime, holiday inspection and identification, certification and lab services, FSIS said. The estimated rates per hour, per employee are:

• Basetime $55.18
• Overtime $69.36
• Holiday $83.54
• Laboratory $69.01
