WASHINGTON –The corn harvest was 91 percent complete in the 18 major states, up from the five-year average of 86 percent, the US Department of Agriculture said in its Nov. 18 Crop Progress report.

The soybean harvest was nearing completion. The USDA said 95 percent of the crop was combined as of Nov. 17, a percentage point behind the 96 percent five-year average for the date.


Harvests of sorghum also were nearing the finish line, the USDA said. A total of 91 percent of the sorghum crop was harvested in the 11 major states as of Nov. 17, up from the 86 percent five-year average.
