SPRINGDALE, Ark. – Mike Roetzel was named group vice president of Operation Service for Tyson Foods, Inc., the company announced Nov. 25.

Roetzel will oversee shared services within the company including information systems; animal well-being; distribution; food safety and quality assurance; and environmental, health and safety. He will report directly to Donnie Smith, president and CEO of Tyson Foods.
Roetzel grew up near Tyson's headquarters in Springdale, Ark., according to the company. He began his career with the company in 1986 as controller for Tyson's transportation and warehousing division. His past leadership positions with the company include director of transportation, vice president of commodity purchasing and senior vice president of purchasing, which is the position he held from 2008 through 2013.
Roetzel has a bachelor's degree in accounting from the Univ. of Arkansas. He also is a certified public accountant.
