OAK BROOK, Ill. – McDonald’s Corp. is putting a new twist on the McMuffin breakfast sandwich in stores abroad, according to BurgerBusiness.com.

In Japan, McMuffin fans can get the Mega McMuffin which has double sausage, bacon, cheese and an egg. The Mega McMuffin is part of the fast-food giant's Big America All-Starts promotion. McDonald's stores in Germany are offering a new McMuffin BBQ Pork on breakfast menus. The stacked up McMuffin has barbecue sauce, a pork sausage patty, iceberg lettuce, tomato and cheese on an English muffin.

The breakfast offerings are part of McDonald's strategy to enhance the chain's menu globally. McDonald's executives said overseas offerings could be imported to US menus, because the company has an array of products to choose from, BurgerBusiness.com reported.
