OAK BROOK, Ill. – McDonald's is adding chicken McWraps to its core menu, according to the Associated Press.
The company will offer three varieties of chicken wrap: Chicken & Bacon, Sweet Chili Chicken and Chicken & Ranch. Two of the wraps will come with cucumbers. The suggested retail price for a wrap is $3.99.
The wrap, which initially was introduced in Europe, officially launches nationwide the week of March 25, according to AP. But some stores already have them. National advertising is set for April 1. Adding the McWrap to its core menu is part of McDonald's strategy to strengthen the 2013 US menu plan. Don Thompson, president and CEO of McDonald's, told analysts to expect to see chicken “in a very different way for McDonald's — maybe a couple different ways this year for McDonald's.”
