LUMBER BRIDGE, NC – Mountaire Farms of North Carolina Inc. plans to expand its workforce and an existing chicken-processing plant, according to robesonian.com.
A $5 million upgrade of new equipment and machinery is underway that will help the plant meet production demand for fresh and frozen chicken. The company plans to add 90 new jobs. The expansion is expected to contribute an estimated $2 million annually to the local economy.
Robeson County Board of Commissioners offered Mountaire Farms an incentives package based on the number of jobs, wages and investments created. The company will have tax breaks for four years.
