OTTAWA, Ontario – The Canadian Food Inspection Agency announced a recall of Hausmacher brand liver pâté on concerns the product may permit the growth of Clostridium botulinum. There have been no reports of illnesses associated with the product.

Webbers Food sold the product in unlabeled glass jars from Nov. 13 to Dec. 5, CFIA said. CFIA tests of the product triggered the recall. The agency is conducting an investigation and verifying that industry is removing the pate from the marketplace. CFIA said its investigation may lead to a recall of additional products.


The pâté was sold at Hammonds Plains Farmers' Market, Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia and Lunenburg Farmers' Market, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.
