The sale includes Chef Pierre, Bistro Collection, Van’s brands, and a license to use the Sara Lee brand in certain channels.

The product is made from “forgotten” ingredients, including chicken breast trim, vegetable puree and spent grain.

The new facility is expected to be operational by late 2019.

The chemical fire resulted in the plant closing immediately and surrounding schools were temporarily closed.

Poultry processing at the facility is expected to resume on May 22.
