Taco Bell introduced the grilled cheese dipping taco, the company’s take on birria. The taco features slow-braised shredded beef and a three-cheese blend, served on a grilled white corn tortilla.
Papa Johns debuted a garlic stuffed crust pizza, its newest stuffed crust option joining the cheese and pepperoni varieties.
“At Papa Johns, we are committed to giving fans more of what they want, and they have expressed so much love for our Special Garlic Sauce that we had to find a way to spotlight this flavor,” said Kimberly Bean, senior vice president of menu strategy and product innovation. “Garlic epic stuffed crust pizza takes garlic to the next level and continues in our commitment to flavor exploration. By combining our signature dough and adding garlic in — and on — our epic stuffed crust pizza, we’ve created a whole new culinary experience while delivering two fan favorites for the ultimate stuffed crust pizza.”
Outback Steakhouse introduced a limited-edition “swicy” menu, which features offerings with a sweet heat flavor.
The menu includes items like hot honey fried chicken, hot honey fried shrimp and a hot honey margarita.
The Canadian branch of Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen added crispy chicken wraps to its menus. The crispy chicken wraps feature a choice between mild or spicy mayo, battered and breaded mild chicken tenders, lettuce and tomato, all wrapped in a tortilla.
“At Popeyes, we're focused on keeping it fresh — innovating our menu to offer our guests even more variety to satisfy their cravings,” said Rob Manuel, general manager, Popeyes Canada. “As part of that work, we’re thrilled to introduce the crispy chicken wrap, a great everyday option for lunch or dinner. This new wrap features Popeyes mild chicken tenders you know and love, but in a new format that's great for on-the-go.”
C-store 7-Eleven added a Korean barbecue flavor to its menus for a limited time. The boneless Korean barbecue wings feature lightly breaded chicken, coated with a sweet and savory soy, garlic and pepper glaze sauce.
“Summer is all about adventure — and this includes adventure for your tastebuds," said Vareesha Shariff, senior director of hot food at 7-Eleven. “At 7-Eleven, we are always trying to expand our menu with unique flavors — and these new Korean barbecue wings are sure to take your taste buds on a summer vacation abroad.”
Chicago-chain Buona added two menu items inspired by the flavors of Nashville. For a limited-time, consumers can order the Nashville chicken sandwich or the Nashville tenders, which feature a new spicy and tangy sauce.
