Limited-time offerings debut across foodservice menus.
McDonald’s is debuting a chicken variation of the Big Mac, the Chicken Big Mac. The sandwich includes all of the traditional Big Mac toppings with two tempura battered chicken patties instead of beef patties.
Convenience chain 7-Eleven has unveiled its fall flavor lineup with several new menu items. Offerings range from an everything bagel sandwich and a sausage, egg and cheese waffle sandwich to stuffed pepperoni pizza, which combines a seasoned dough pocket with tomato sauce, spicy sliced pepperoni and mozzarella cheese fillings. The company also has launched the chicken and waffles roller, which features chicken battered and coated with sweet maple, according to the company.
“Each of our new fall menu items provides a fun twist on fan-favorite items, like our chicken and waffles roller or stuffed pepperoni pizza, taking the beloved classics to the next level,” said Deanna Hall, senior product director of fresh foods at 7-Eleven.
Qdoba’s loaded tortilla soup is making a reappearance for a limited time. Made with a vegetable broth flavored with tomatoes, roasted peppers, onions and spices, the soup is available with brisket birria, grilled adobo chicken or grilled steak and toppings such as sour cream, pico de gallo, shredded cheese, tortilla strips and guacamole.
“Year after year, we love leaning into the coziness of colder months and exciting fans with this fan-favorite staple,” said Katy Velazquez, executive corporate chef at Qdoba.
Whataburger is expanding its spicy menu lineup with the Bacon Blaze Jalapeño Double burger. Made with two beef patties, Whataburger’s jalapeño ranch, jalapeño cream cheese, bacon, aged cheddar and jalapeño slices, the burger is available at Whataburger locations through the end of the month.
Restaurant International Brands subsidiary Burger King has partnered with Amazon MGM Studios to create a lineup of menu items inspired by “The Addams Family” animated films ahead of Halloween.
Wednesday’s whopper includes a flame-grilled patty, Swiss cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, mayonnaise, ketchup, pickles, and onions on top of a purple bun with black sesame seeds. Gomez’s churro fries feature fried churros coated in cinnamon sugar and paired with chocolate dipping sauce. Morticia’s Kooky Chocolate Shake merges chocolate soft serve and chocolate cake batter fudge topped with black and purple cookie pieces.
Noodles & Co. is debuting a slate of pasta dishes centered on new flavors and never-before-used ingredients, according to the company. Offerings include: lemon garlic shrimp scampi, a twist on the traditional dish with grilled shrimp, roasted tomatoes, artichokes and zesty flavor notes; chipotle chicken cavatappi, a spicy mix of spiral cavatappi noodles, roasted red peppers, smoky chipotle sauce and grilled chicken; and crispy chicken bacon alfredo, with 4-cheese alfredo sauce, bacon and broccoli.
“This launch is a significant milestone in our journey to deliver more sophisticated, dynamic flavors to our guests, and we’re confident that our fans — new and old alike — will find something to love,” said Scott Davis, chief concept officer at Noodles & Co.
Zaxbys is re-releasing its Asian Zensation Zalad and vegetable egg rolls for a limited time. The salad features either hand-breaded chicken tenders or marinated grilled chicken, chopped greens, red cabbage, carrots, wonton strips, Asian slaw and honey sesame teriyaki sauce. The egg rolls include a wonton wrapper filled with shredded cabbage, carrots, green onion and seasonings.
