Limited-time offerings are rolling out across menus.
Subway has debuted ghost pepper bread for a limited time. The bread features an Italian bread dough coated in ghost pepper, habanero and paprika-seasoned panko breadcrumbs, Monterey cheddar cheese and jalapeño slices.
The company also is adding the spicy nacho steak sandwich and the fiery meatball sandwich to its menu as part of the launch. The spicy nacho steak sandwich includes sliced steak smothered in cheddar cheese sauce, green peppers, red onions, jalapeños, SubKrunch and a drizzle of sriracha. The meatball sandwich features the ghost pepper bread, pepperoni, meatballs, pepperjack cheese, sriracha sauce, extra jalapeños and Parmesan cheese.
Wendy’s has partnered with entertainment company Paramount to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the “SpongeBob SquarePants” television show with the Krabby Patty Kollab.
The collaboration includes the Krabby Patty Kollab Burger, a quarter pound of beef, two slices of American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, and Krabby Kollab sauce on a toasted bun, and the Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty, a vanilla Frosty frozen dessert with a pineapple mango-flavored puree swirl.
Bob Evans Farmhouse Kitchen is launching two menu additions as part of its new breakfast value menu. The griddle stacker combines a sausage patty, American cheese, bacon and a fried egg between three mini hotcakes, topped with powdered sugar. The farm boy sandwich features a brioche bun with a sausage patty, fried egg and American cheese.
“At Bob Evans Farmhouse Kitchen, our goal is to excite our guests with new farm fresh dishes at a price point everyone can enjoy,” said Mickey Mills, chief executive officer of Bob Evans. “The launch of our Sunrise Savers menu accomplishes this goal and more by combining new and classic breakfast dishes into one menu.”
Taco Bell is rolling out five menu items from its first 50 years of operation, one from each decade. Representing the 1960s is the tostada, a corn tostada shell with refried beans, red sauce, lettuce and shredded cheese. From the 1970s comes the green sauce burrito with refried beans, onions, shredded cheddar cheese and green sauce made from green chili, tomatillos, jalapeño peppers and spices. The Meximelt of the 1980s features a tortilla wrapped around pico de gallo, seasoned beef and a blend of melted mozzarella, cheddar and Monterey jack cheeses.
The gordita supreme (1990s) offers a flatbread containing seasoned beef, reduced-fat sour cream, lettuce, a mozzarella, cheddar and Monterey jack cheese blend and topped with diced tomatoes. The 2000s are represented with the caramel apple empanada, a fried pastry filled with apple pieces and caramel filling.
Yum! Brands subsidiary KFC has launched Original Recipe Tenders. The double breaded chicken tenders are made with KFC’s blend of 11 herbs and spices, and the tenders can be served alongside the company’s new comeback sauce.
“We know consumers crave bold flavor and chicken tenders are a familiar favorite,” said Catherine Tan-Gillespie, chief marketing officer and chief development officer of KFC’s US business.
The company also unveiled cherry pie poppers, flaky pastry desserts with cherry pie filling.
