GREELEY, Colo. – Operations at a new offal processing area has begun at JBS USA’s beef processing plant in Cactus, Texas. The 13,500 sq. ft. facility for case-ready processing is designed to expand if needed.
Built in 1973 and located on 125 acres in the Texas Panhandle, the JBS Cactus operation employs more than 3,200 people and can process 5,200 head of cattle per day.

"The new operation is designed to provide customers with a more comprehensive product offering to include case-ready and value-added solutions," said Al Byers, leader of the JBS USA fed-beef business unit. "The packaging technology enhances our ability to meet the unique needs of our customers in both domestic and international markets."

JBS USA’s new case-ready line is focused on variety meat, including tripe, oxtails, tongue and more. This beef facility also produces boxed beef and ground beef. In addition to producing the Swift brand, the plant also produces Swift Black Angus and Certified Angus Beef, among other premium programs.
"We are dedicated to providing the best possible service, selection and value to our customers," Byers said. "The new case-ready operation provides our customers with the opportunity to easily add variety to their existing beef programs while decreasing their operational costs."
