TOKYO – An April Fool's gag or a great deal – you decide. Burger King Japan (BKJ) announced a limited-edition perfume will go on sale in Japan on April 1. The fragrance is similar to the flame-grilled patty aroma present in Burger King restaurants, the company said in a news release.
The Flame-Grilled Fragrance will be on offer for one day and available only in Japan. The fragrance will sell for 5,000 yen (about $41) and comes with a Whopper hamburger.
The company said in a news release the Flame Grilled promotion is an effort to get to know more its customers. To commemorate the event, BKJ is launching a special web site that will feature a short humorous movie.
About seven years ago, Burger King launched a similar promotion in the United States for the company's Flame body spray. The tag line was: The Scent of Seduction, With a Hint of Grilled Meat.
