KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The editors of Meat+Poultry explored the Bacon and Bourbon Festival in downtown Kansas City on April 14 to see if they could find some tasty bacon treats, and they succeeded.
The bite-sized bacon ranged from a bacon-covered meatball to chocolate-covered bacon dates from nine local restaurants.
It’s the third year for this event hosted by a local magazine called The Pitch, and it once again sold all 800 tickets available to the public.
Check out the slideshow for some of the staff's favorite bacon dishes spotted and tasted at the festival.
Meat+Poultry also managed to catch up with Jason Dockery, the marketing director for The Pitch and the event on why this festival was such a hit again.
