DUBLIN, Ohio – The Wendy’s Company hired E.J. Wunsch as the company’s general counsel and secretary effective Oct. 3. Wunsch will report to president and CEO Todd Penegor and will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team. Prior to joining Wendy’s, Wunsch worked for Procter & Gamble for 17 years.

“E.J. is a strong business leader with broad experience in the consumer packaged goods industry, both domestically and internationally,” Penegor said. “We’re excited to have him join us as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, as his broad experience advising on strategic business matters will help shape the future growth of Wendy's.”
Wunsch previously held the title of vice president and general counsel of Procter & Gamble’s North America business. Prior to that role he was based in Singapore and served as associate general counsel for P&G’s Asia Innovation, Commerce and Brand Equity matters. In addition, Munsch served as assistant secretary to the Board of Directors and associate general counsel for their securities, corporate governance and employee benefits law matters.
In 1999, Wunsch was an associate with Taft, Stettinius & Hollister and also worked as a law clerk to the Honorable Richard Suhrheinrich on the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
A native of Ohio, Wunsch received a bachelor’s of science in finance from Miami Univ. and a law degree from Northwestern Univ. School of Law.
