CLAREMONT, N.H. — North Country Smokehouse announced on Jan. 8 that it is expanding its original Canadian bacon product line with the launch of its Organic Applewood Smoked Uncured Canadian bacon.
Sourced from duBreton pork, the product is hand-trimmed and marinated. The Canadian bacon marinates in a brine made from maple syrup and spices and then is double smoked to add flavor.
"We're excited to bring one of the only Certified Organic Canadian bacons to the market. Through our traditional low-and-slow smoke method, this product retains a full-bodied flavor unrivaled by other Canadian bacons," said Aaron Corbett, chief operating officer, North Country Smokehouse. "We're also proud to be a leader in the industry with our commitment to animal welfare standards by continuing to provide USDA Organic and Certified Humane options for consumers across our product lines."
Each North Country product is handmade and slow-smoked in small batches and does not use artificial flavors, fillers or dyes. The bacon is free of nitrates nitrites and antibiotics.
The new Canadian bacon is available for sale at Whole Foods Market in New England and on the company’s website.
