WASHINGTON – Marietta, Georgia-based Tip Top Poultry Inc. updated the information on the undetermined amount of ready-to-eat (RTE) poultry products produced at its Rockmart, Georgia plant that is suspected of being adulterated by Listeria monocytogenes, according to the US Dept. of Agriculture’s (USDA’s) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
The new updated list can be found at this spreadsheet. More labels are also available from the company here.
On Sept. 28, all cooked, diced or shredded RTE chicken products produced between Jan. 21, 2019 and Sept. 24, 2019 were recalled. The product codes range from 10000 to 19999 and 70000 to 79999.
The issue was discovered when the firm notified the FSIS that multiple samples of product produced by Tip Top Poultry confirmed positive for the presence of Listeria monocytogenes following testing in Canada.
In August, Tip Top recalled 135,810 lbs. of fully cooked poultry products due to Listeria concerns. The CFIA has also been investigating the outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes.
The products subject to recall bear establishment number “P-17453” inside the USDA mark of inspection or on the case. The items were shipped nationwide and to Canada.
