SACRAMENTO – Artisan lamb sausage is the latest new product innovation from Superior Farms, a leading producer and processor of lamb in the United States. Instead of using a single protein, lamb is paired with beef and pork to create the new offering.
Available flavors are Lamb and Pork Fennel Sausage and Lamb and Beef Gyro Sausage. The items are gluten-free and prepared with no artificial ingredients or nitrates. The pork used in the lamb and pork sausages is raised without the use of hormones or antibiotics.
“We considered the many ways one can incorporate lamb into the protein rotation at home, and thoughtfully prepared two sausages that offer a contemporary spin on traditional favorites,” said Anders Hemphill, vice president of marketing and brand strategy at Superior Farms. “Made in our kitchen for yours, these sausages make it easy to include an artisanal ingredient that creatively combines lamb and pork or lamb and beef into your next meal.”
The lamb sausages are available in packs of four sausages for a suggested retail price of $8.50 per pound.
Previous innovations in lamb products from Superior Farms have included a pre-cooked, seasoned boneless leg of lamb and pre-cooked lamb meatballs with feta cheese. Superior Farms developed both products for the foodservice segment.
