TORONTO – Subway Canada recently launched a plant-based Beyond Meatball sub with help from tastemaker Martha Stewart.
The Beyond Meatball sub comes with Subway Canada’s marinara sauce, grated parmesan, shredded mozzarella and Monterey Jack cheese. To promote the menu item, Martha Stewart stars in a video sharing her Beyond Meatball “plant-care” tips.
“Martha is the perfect partner to announce the nationwide launch of the Beyond Meatball Marinara Sub in Canada,” said Cristina Wells, Subway Canada senior marketing director. “Martha’s green thumb and culinary prowess made her a natural fit to speak to the unbelievable cultivation and care that goes into creating the Beyond Meatball.”
Customers also can customize a Beyond Meatball sub with their choice of bread, vegetables and sauce.

In August 2019, Subway announced plans to test the Beyond Meatball Marinara Sub at 685 restaurants in the United States and Canada. Beyond Meat frozen and plant-based products may be found in more than 32,000 retail and foodservice outlets across the US.
