DUBLIN, Ohio – The national launch of Wendy’s breakfast menu is March 2, but the quick-service chain began stirring the pot early with tweets aimed at giving competitors (mainly McDonald’s Corp.) notice of another rival in the breakfast daypart.
The company said breakfast at Wendy’s will include twists on familiar flavors while paying homage to customer favorites. Breakfast Baconator, Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit and the Frosty-ccino are menu highlights.
“Our crew will be hand-cracking fresh eggs on all our breakfast sandwiches and leaning into the quality ingredients that have long set Wendy’s apart from the competition,” Kurt Kane, president, U.S. and chief commercial officer of The Wendy’s Company, said. “We’ve crafted unique sandwiches that will leave you craving another, like the Breakfast Baconator, which features a fresh-cracked egg, signature sausage patty and six strips of Applewood smoked bacon.”
Wendy’s said it will release new content on the company Twitter feed during peak morning hours featuring surprise guests and exclusive sneak peeks as part of its campaign announcing breakfast.
#WendysBreakfast is coming on 3/2. This is former McDonald’s Chef @Mike_Haracz. He’s about to learn why we’re stacking bacon six strips high on the Breakfast Baconator. What’s good, Mike? pic.twitter.com/pcxbW4BHMS
