KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Papa John’s is bringing its pizza dough and toppings into a new format with the launch of Papadias Italian flatbread-style sandwiches. Made from Papa John’s pizza dough filled with various ingredients, the oven baked Papadias come in four varieties: Italian, Philly Cheesesteak, Grilled BBQ Chicken & Bacon, and Meatball Pepperoni
“The Papadia is inspired by the ‘piadina,’ an Italian folded flatbread sandwich from Northern Italy,” said Paul Fabre, senior vice president of product innovation at Papa John’s. “It combines the original Papa John’s crust people crave along with fresh toppings, making it the best of both worlds — it’s both a pizza and a sandwich. The Papadia is great for people on the go who are looking to mix up their traditional lunch routine.”
Sonic Drive-In is spicing up its tater tots with new Tatchos. The snack features Sonic’s signature tater tots layered with cheese sauce, bacon, diced onions, jalapeños and zesty baja sauce.
“Sonic Tots have become a fan favorite over the years, and we are giving them an exciting upgrade with a fiesta of cheesy nacho flavors to create a shareable snack inspired by similar delights found in gastropubs,” said Scott Uehlein, vice president of product innovation and development for Sonic. “What better way to warm up on a cold winter day than with a mashup of flavors from Totchos?”
