ELIZABETHTOWN, PA. – The American Association of Meat Processors (AAMP) announced its AAMP Clean Plan on May 26 along with the steps it will take to hold its annual convention July 30-August 1 in Des Moines, Iowa, at the Iowa Events Center and Hilton Des Moines Downtown.
AAMP said it will provide cloth masks for any attendee who wants one, with masks being donated by Bunzl Processor Division.
In a post on May 18, Chris Young, executive director of AAMP, said the association is working with local authorities to hold its event as scheduled and still mitigate the risk for attendees.
“That doesn’t mean you will have to wear a mask; it means we are working to put protocols in place to address the concerns of our attendees,” Young said. “We will have masks available for those who would like them, as well as hand sanitizing stations throughout the facility. We will also encourage people to be conscientious about how they greet and interact with each other.”
The trade show floor will have large aisles, according to AAMP, which will help manage traffic. Education sessions will be set up to allow adequate spacing between attendees as well.
AAMP will also provide alcohol-based hand sanitizer stations that will be available throughout the convention. Finally, AAMP’s food and beverage service will be no contact with pre-packaged food, disposable cutlery and food trays.
MEAT+POULTRY continues to track trade shows, conferences and seminars for cancellations and postponements, as well as those sticking to their original schedule.
