ANKENY, IOWA — Adrian Butler has joined Casey’s General Stores Inc. in the newly created role of chief information officer. In this role, he will spearhead the effort to “advance next generation technology” at the convenience retailer, Casey’s said. Butler will lead all information technology (IT) strategy, innovation, modernization and delivery at Casey’s.
Most recently, Butler was senior vice president and CIO at Dine Brands Global Inc., parent company of IHOP and Applebee’s. Before that, he spent four years at Target Corp. in various roles, including vice president of business solutions security, senior director of technology services and director of strategy, planning, architecture, security and compliance. Earlier in his career, Butler was vice president and CIO for Tom Joyner Online Education, vice president of IT for AccorHotels and manager of IT services and remote operations for American General.
“Adrian is a proven leader and technologist with deep experience across the restaurant and retail industries that will take our technology strategy to the next level,” said Darren Rebelez, chief executive officer of Casey’s General Stores. “We have a strong leadership team in place at Casey’s, and I know that Adrian will contribute to delivering on our purpose and advancing our strategic plan.”
Butler is Casey’s third new hire within the past month, and the fourth within the past two months. In mid-May, Ena Williams joined the company as chief operating officer, and Steve Bramlage was named chief financial officer. In April, Casey’s appointed Michelle Wickham as vice president of foodservice.
