DAYTON, OHIO — White Castle has finished construction on the $27 million expansion to its retail food manufacturing facility in Vandalia, Ohio.

Named “The House That Bill Built” in honor of former White Castle president and chief executive officer Bill Ingram, the now 150,000-square-foot facility will supply packaged frozen sliders to retailers across the United States.

“This expansion gives us the capacity we need to ensure grocery stores and retail outlets across the US have the White Castle products they need to satisfy their customers’ cravings,” said Dave Rife, chief manufacturing officer for White Castle.

The expansion, which began in July 2021, is expected to create 75 new jobs once the added production lines are operational.

Rife said the project would serve the growing retail demand for White Castle’s sliders since the company introduced its retail frozen goods line in 1987.

The expansion is also part of the company’s plan to continue investing in its supply chain for its restaurant and retail divisions, which includes existing White Castle-owned and operated bakeries, meat processing plants and frozen-food manufacturing facilities.
