SPRINGDALE, ARK. – Tyson Foods Inc. confirmed on Dec. 13 that it would acquire a 130,000-square-foot building in Springdale, Ark., that previously served as a Walmart call center.
A report by Northwest Arkansas Business Journal, said that Tyson paid $19.24 million for the building.
Tyson Foods spokesperson Derek Burleson said the property would be called “Tyson on Thompson” and will provide the capacity of approximately 1,000 workspaces.
“The building will provide more space and flexibility as we consolidate our corporate offices and expand world headquarters,” Burleson said.
In October, Tyson announced that it plans to bring all corporate employees to one location at its world headquarters in Arkansas.
Currently, the meat producer has corporate locations in Chicago, Downers Grove, III., and Dakota Dunes, SD, for various parts of the business. The company said the relocation will begin in early 2023.
