OSCEOLA, NEB. — Hormel Foods Corp. confirmed that a small fire broke out the morning of April 19 at its Osceola, Iowa, plant.
The Osceola Fire Department responded quickly to the scene. According to media reports, the fire was contained to the smokehouse area of the plant.
No injuries were reported due to the fire.
“We’d like to thank the fire department for their fast response,” a Hormel spokesperson told MEAT+POULTRY. “We can also confirm that the plant is fully operational again.”
Hormel added that it is still investigating the cause of the fire.
