BRIDGEVIEW, ILL. – Stampede Meat Inc. announced it is installing an oven with a 10 million lb capacity at its Alma, Ga., DL Lee & Sons processing plant, supplementing the company’s sous vide-cooked meats production capabilities.
The investment comes three months after Stampede announced the acquisition of DL Lee & Sons Inc., making it the largest capacity sous vide processor in North America, according to the company. Stampede officials say the installation at the Alma plant will be completed this month, adding that it plans to also expand capacity for its sous vide production at its Ontario, Canada, plant later this year.
The company said offering its customers sous vide-cooked products addresses labor challenges, especially in the foodservice sector.
“Stampede is both proud and humbled by the role we play in our customers’ success,” said Brock Furlong, Stampede’s president and chief executive officer. “This expansion will enable my Stampede family to better assist our customers as they work to provide more efficient and effective product solutions for their customers.”
