MCLEAN, VA. – Process Expo will present its 2023 Innovation Awards during its upcoming annual event, as the global food equipment and technology tradeshow honors exceptional performances in the fields of research, new products and technologies, and applications for the food and beverage processing and packaging industry.
The show’s organizers use the awards not only to highlight innovations in product development, manufacturing and implementation, but also to promote unconventional thinking and show appreciation for the technologies that push the industry to evolve.
This year’s awards will go to the best new application, product, technology for sustainability, and technology for automation. Award-winners will be recognized during a special presentation during the first day of Process Expo, Oct. 23 at Chicago’s McCormick Place Convention Center. A jury of industry experts and members of academia select the winners.
“Process Expo has always been a platform where the latest innovations in the food and beverage industry are highlighted,” said Kristy Meade, vice president of technology shows for Messe Frankfurt Inc., which co-produces the show.
“This year, the award categories reflect a wide range of advancements in industry products, technology and services from the entire food and beverage supply chain,” Meade said. “We look forward to recognizing companies that have worked diligently to create products and solutions that advance our industry and make a positive impact in the marketplace.”
As defined by Process Expo’s organizers, innovations include novel, redesigned or substantially developed products or processes in connection with food and beverage processing. The awards go to innovations that have been released to market within the 18 months prior to the show.
Brian Perkins, chairman of the Food Processing Suppliers Association (FPSA) and president of Provisur Technologies, said the awards not only highlight how FPSA members lead the way in technological innovations, but also give Process Expo attendees “an exclusive look at the equipment, products and services that they can put to use in their facilities and provide them with a competitive advantage in their production.”
FPSA, which co-sponsors the show, is a trade association created to serve suppliers to the global food and beverage industry.
