JANESVILLE, WIS. — GEA recently announced that it began operations at its new fabrication, repair, logistics and training facility in Janesville, Wis.
The 85,000-square-foot facility was a $20 million investment by the company, which supplies technology and equipment to the food and beverage industry and will mainly be used to finalize the separator, decanter, as well as valve and pump assembly.
It features a state-of-the-art building management system, water reuse system and solar panels.
“Opening the new Janesville facility as anticipated in December 2023 represents a significant step toward meeting our customers where they operate,” said Azam Owaisi, chief executive officer GEA North America. “It highlights GEA’s commitment to product quality and service excellence. We are excited to become a vibrant employer and partner for the Janesville community.”
GEA said the facility has more than 70 employees and is located 80 miles west of Milwaukee and 40 miles south of Madison.
Its main production area is used for mechanical equipment fabrication, repair and logistics. The investment also features a modern office concept that allows for effective workspace utilization, collaboration and communication, while the open flow of the building helps promote employee connectivity and productivity.
Other eco-friendly elements of the building include LED lighting, electric car charging stations along with a high-efficiency heating and cooling system.
GEA started this project in November 2022.
