MUNSTER, IND. — Land O’Frost Inc., a processor of deli meats, plans to close operations at its Pullman, III., facility, near the Indiana border, affecting approximately 215 jobs. A layoff WARN Notice confirmed the decision to the state of Illinois.
“After careful consideration, we have made the decision to transition our portfolio of products currently produced at the Pullman facility to other locations within our manufacturing network,” Land O’Frost said in a statement. “Unfortunately, this move entails the gradual elimination of all Land O’Frost positions at the Pullman site throughout this year.”
The company added that affected employees will receive comprehensive severance packages with benefits assistance.
“This was an incredibly difficult decision to make due to its impact on a group of dedicated team members and one we put much thought into,” Land O’Frost said. “We are confident that consolidating operations will enhance our ability to serve our customers effectively and to our standard of excellence.”
Land O’Frost produces deli meats and value-added meat items in various categories. Products can be found in supermarkets, mass merchandisers and natural grocers nationwide.
