SÃO PAULO —Middleby Food Processing announced its acquistion of Maxmac Comércio Importação Exportação de Máquinas e Equipamentos  located in São Paulo, Brazil.

The company said the move not only enhances its presence in Brazil but builds on its established presence in South America.  

Middleby plans to offer comprehensive solutions, manufacturing and spare parts to provide better value for customers. With local manufacturing it can bypass shipping fees, import costs and delays.

The company also mentioned that the acquisition aligns with its strategic initiative to invest in manufacturing capabilities to increase capacity and drive production efficiencies for both its protein and bakery verticals.

With the recently acquired plant in Brazil, Middleby will work on increasing market activity in all segments and provide equipment integration solutions for processors of all sizes for key partners in Brazil’s food industry. 

Middleby plans to work on processes that specialize in raw material preparation to product packaging for retail and foodservice applications.
