CHICAGO – Fort Smith, Ark.-based Poultry processor OK Foods Inc. reached an agreement last week that would settle a lawsuit by end-user consumer plaintiffs in one of the ongoing broiler chicken price-fixing cases.
The notice was submitted to the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
With the settlement in place, plaintiffs and defendants will move for preliminary approval and final approval of future proposed settlements.
In September 2023, OK Foods agreed to a $4.9 million settlement in a director purchaser plaintiff class lawsuit.
Many recent Broiler Chicken Antitrust Litigation lawsuits have accused poultry processors of conspiring and coordinating production dating back to 2008.
