MIAMI – Burger King Worldwide, Inc. and Beboca Ltd. have entered a multi-country master franchise joint venture agreement for the development and management of restaurants in Central America.
Beboca Ltd. is a long-standing Burger King franchisee that operates 48 restaurants in Costa Rica and Panama. With this agreement, a new entity called BK Centro America will be established, and the new joint venture will acquire master franchise rights for the 178 restaurants in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama. The joint venture also will manage the development of the Burger King brand in these countries. The company will provide operations, supply chain, procurement and marketing for franchisees in Central America.
In 2012, Burger King Worldwide introduced joint ventures in South Africa, Russia and China. In 2011, the company introduced one in Brazil.
