HUTCHISON, Kan. – An employee at Tyson Foods, Inc. plant in Hutchison, Kan. lost his arm in an accident at the plant on June 17, according to local news reports.

The man's arm was caught in a conveyor belt, and he was pulled into the machine. His arm was amputated from the elbow down. The injured man was taken by helicopter Via Christi's St. Francis hospital in Wichita, Kan. A hospital spokesperson said the man was in critical condition.


A spokesman from the company said the accident is under investigation.

“While we’re still gathering details, we can tell you steps were taken to ensure the production worker involved received immediate medical care. He is now in stable condition at a Wichita hospital,” he added.
