BOLINGBROOK, Ill. – Peter Brooks Brown was named president of Quantum Foods LLC, a provider of custom value-added proteins.
Brown brings to the post more than 25 years of experience in the food and meat industry. He held various executive positions with Cargill during his 21-year career there, most recently serving as vice president, business manager in Wichita, Kan. He oversaw Cargill's cooked and processed meats business for the foodservice and retail segments with an emphasis on national accounts, regional chains, c-store, K-12, retail deli and clubs.
“Peter is a seasoned executive who has played an integral role in the development and implementation of Cargill’s operational strategy,” said Edward Bleka, company founder and CEO. “His deep knowledge of our market segments and customer needs makes him an ideal candidate to help me lead Quantum Foods at this important time in our development.”
While at Cargill, Brown was complex general manager of meat processing facilities in Texas and Arkansas. He was promoted to vice president in 1998. Brown held positions in operations, research and development, sales, and commercial management. He also served as a business excellence lead examiner with global accountability, and was selected to two high performance leadership development academies.
Brown has a BS in Food Science from California Polytechnic State Univ., San Luis Obispo Calif.
